20th season · BCCI-stated target window: 10 March – 15 May 2027 · 74 matches · 10 teams
Each of the 10 teams plays 14 league matches. The league stage produces a top four, who contest Qualifier 1 (1st v 2nd), the Eliminator (3rd v 4th), Qualifier 2 and the Final. Evening matches traditionally start at 7:30 PM IST, with 3:30 PM IST afternoon starts on double-header days. Playoff venues are sometimes announced mid-season, as they were in 2026.
The earlier window is deliberate: BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has said starting around 10 March helps the tournament finish by mid-May, avoiding extreme heat and pre-monsoon rain during the playoffs. Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab in early 2027 could still shape a phased fixture release, as elections did in 2026.
