Punjab Kings · IPL 2026 squad (date-stamped) · Profile updated 26 October 2026

This is the complete, source-checked profile of Marcus Stoinis of Punjab Kings: what the role is, where the player fits in the PBKS setup, and what to watch when the 2027 season opens.

Marcus Stoinis and the PBKS Squad Picture

Squad lists in the IPL are never just names. Each franchise keeps a balance of Indian and overseas players, power hitters and anchors, new-ball bowlers and death specialists — and Marcus Stoinis holds one of those specific slots for PBKS. The role recorded for Marcus Stoinis is: All-rounder. Where a specialist role or a full career stat line could not be verified from a reliable source in this build, the table below says PENDING. That is deliberate: a fan guide that invents numbers helps nobody.

Consider where Punjab Kings stand historically: 0 championship(s), won in None yet — finalists in 2014 and 2025. Squads that carry that kind of past get measured against it every April, and Marcus Stoinis is part of the group expected to keep PBKS in the playoff argument. The margins are thin — one win separated fourth from seventh in the 2026 table — so squad players in Marcus Stoinis's bracket often decide seasons without ever headlining them.

Marcus Stoinis — IPL 2027 Outlook

For 2027, the big question around Marcus Stoinis is opportunity. The December 2026 mini-auction in Goa can add direct competition for the same slot, and PBKS's retention decisions will tell us how the franchise rates Marcus Stoinis. If the role holds, expect Marcus Stoinis to feature heavily in the home stretch at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, where Punjab Kings play the majority of their league games. All of it plays out against the backdrop of the last auction cycle before the next mega auction resets every roster in the league.

Coaching staffs talk about 'bankable overs' and 'bankable innings' — the unglamorous currency players in this bracket trade in. The 2026 league table is the context that never leaves: one win separated fourth place from seventh, so the difference between a playoff season and an early flight home is often two or three contributions from the squad's second tier. Analysts will add that the Impact Player era has quietly raised the value of exactly this profile — a defined skill, deployable on demand, without needing a full match to matter.
