WINDOW — The BCCI is targeting 10 March to 15 May 2027 for the 20th IPL season, with 74 matches and the same 10 teams. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated the earlier window is meant to avoid extreme late-May heat and pre-monsoon rain. No fixture list exists yet; anything circulating as a full schedule is unofficial.
AUCTION — Multiple reports say franchises have been told the IPL 2027 mini-auction will be held on 16 December 2026 at ITC Grand Goa, with a briefing on 15 December. It would be the first IPL auction in India since 2022 and the final auction of the current cycle. Official BCCI confirmation is still awaited, so this site labels the date 'reported'.
SQUAD MOVES ALREADY ON RECORD — Chennai Super Kings have traded in Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals, while Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have moved the other way to RR (per published IPL 2026 squad listings). Shardul Thakur has joined Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants, and Mohammed Shami has moved to LSG. Full squad lists for all 10 teams, date-stamped, are on our teams pages.
RECORD WATCH — Rishabh Pant remains the most expensive player in auction history (Rs 27 crore, LSG, 2025). Cameron Green's Rs 25.20 crore move to KKR in the 2026 mini-auction is the overseas record, with his salary capped at Rs 18 crore under the maximum-fee rule.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT — Retention and release lists are expected in the weeks before the December auction. This roundup is updated when official announcements land; major news gets its own full post.
